New Zealand Mounted
Rifles Reinforcement Unit hat badges |
- Up to the 11th Reinforcements the
Mounted Rifles used the general pattern reinforcement badge. The
Company (or Squadron) letter indicated;
- A = Auckland Squadron
- B
= Wellington Squadron
- C = Canterbury Squadron
- D = Otago Squadron
- From 12th Reos onwards the troops
were undesignated (or general reinforcements) for the Mounted Rifle
Brigade.
- Later specially numbered badges were introduced
featuring
a rampant horse.
