The Rising Sun Badge was the official hat and collar badge of ALL Australian Light Horse Units raised for the AIF.

notes. These are not the official badges of the wartime Australian Light Horse Regiments, who wore (as did all AIF Units) the Rising Sun badge. These badges are in most case the badges of the Units that the ALH Regiments grew from and were sometimes used in an unofficial capacity in 1914/18. In most cases they were official badges before and sometimes after the war.
Also be aware that with constant reorganizations any Unit number might have been used 2 or 3 times in different States or areas. Just as important as the number was the Regiment name.
