| In the Boer War we fought
alongside the Kiwis as cousins. In the First World War the relationship
was closer, more like brothers. During WW2 it was back to being as
cousins and that relationship was maintained through Korea, Malaya, Malaysia
and Singapore. During Viet Nam the relationship was back to a brotherly
like one as we shared the same units, fears, joys and hardships.
I served along side the Kiwis in
Malaysia and Singapore. I drank with them, fought with them and against
them on leave, admired them, loved them and hated them. The only thing
as good as having an Aussie protecting your back is having a 'bloody
kiwi' doing the job. Good on ya, fellas, soldier on. |
